SCVS Meeting Cancellation
Providing a safe and healthy environment for our members, staff, industry partners and guests at our meetings is always the top priority of the SCVS. The Council of the SCVS has been closely monitoring the events surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and due to ongoing concerns and uncertainty surrounding travel and restrictions for attendees and speakers, the SCVS Annual Symposium scheduled for March 14-18, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach in Huntington Beach, CA has been cancelled. Communications regarding a potential virtual meeting, online CME credits, and refund options will be forthcoming.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. This was an extremely difficult decision but one which we believe is in the best interests of our members and attendees, as well as our patients, at the present time. Our Program Committee put together an exciting Annual Symposium and we will work diligently to look towards virtual meeting options and to presenting these to you in the very near future. In the meantime, we wish for health and recovery to all those affected and hope to see everyone at the SCVS 48th Annual Symposium from March 13-17, 2021 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

Why is the SCVS 48th Annual Symposium canceled?
We have been closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as state and local governments. We have also been actively following travel advisories and restrictions being placed on hospitals and institutions. The health, safety, and well-being of our members, staff, exhibitors, faculty, and patients is of paramount importance. With an ever-increasing number of our members on the front lines of preparing and reacting to the COVID-19 outbreak worldwide, it is in the best interest of everyone to cancel the meeting.

Will the SCVS 48th Annual Symposium be postponed until a later date or rescheduled?
The SCVS 48th Annual Symposium will now be taking place from March 13-17, 2021 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

What happens if I submitted an abstract?
If your abstract was accepted as a Full Oral Presentation or Mini presentation, we would like to offer you the ability to present at the 2021 Annual Symposium. Should you not wish to hold your work until 2021, the SCVS is also willing to withdraw your submission to allow you to present at another meeting and waive the requirement to submit to the journal. If your abstract was accepted as a Case Presentation, Karmody ePoster, or ePoster, we encourage you to resubmit for the 2021 Annual Symposium. Abstract submission for the 2021 Annual Symposium will open in June.

For the authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Vascular Surgery: When authors submit to the JVS they should still indicate that their abstract was accepted for the SCVS 2020 meeting on the submission details and title page. Those manuscripts will be published with the statement that they were accepted for the canceled 2020 Annual Symposium.
